Abstract
Los resultados revelaron una correlación positiva y moderada entre la economía circular y la gestión de residuos sólidos (r=0.544, p=0.000), lo que indica que la implementación de prácticas basadas en la economía circular tiene un impacto favorable en la mejora de la gestión ambiental dentro de los hoteles de tres estrellas en Cusco. Asimismo, la dimensión Reciclaje presentó una correlación positiva moderada (r = 0,538; p = 0,000). Por otro lado, la dimensión Diseño Regenerativo evidenció una correlación positiva moderada (r = 0,466; p = 0,000), al igual que la dimensión Economía Lineal (r = 0,459;
The main objective of this study was to determine the degree of relationship between the circular economy and solid waste management in three-star hotels in the city of Cusco during the year 2025. The research adopted a quantitative approach, with a descriptive-correlational and non-experimental cross-sectional design, which allowed for an objective and statistical analysis of the variables in question. The population consisted of employees from three-star hotels in the district of Cusco, from which a non-probabilistic sample of 50 individuals was surveyed. Data collection was carried out using a structured questionnaire, whose reliability was evaluated through Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient, ensuring the internal consistency of the items. The data analysis was performed using statistical software, applying Spearman’s correlation test to measure the relationship between the variables. The results revealed a positive and moderate correlation between the circular economy and solid waste management (r = 0.544, p = 0.000), indicating that the implementation of practices based on the circular economy has a favorable impact on improving environmental management in three-star hotels in Cusco. Likewise, the Recycling dimension showed a positive and moderate correlation (r = 0.538; p = 0.000). Furthermore, the Regenerative Design dimension exhibited a positive and moderate correlation (r = 0.466; p = 0.000), similar to the Linear Economy dimension (r = 0.459; p = 0.000). Finally, the Sustainable Design dimension reflected a positive and moderate correlation (r = 0.403; p = 0.002). These correlations, obtained concerning the variable Solid Waste Management, demonstrate that all the analyzed dimensions maintain a positive, statistically significant, and moderate relationship within three-star hotels in Cusco.
